With great pleasure Studio Roosegaarde presents the first Sustainable Dance Floor which will generate energy through the movements of the dancing people. The more you dance the more energy you produce in which the dancers will get engaged with the ‘Sustainable experience’. Dune goes to Sculpture Quadrennial Riga

As part of the Dutch entry of Sculpture Quadrennial our Dune goes to Riga and we are here to chaperon. Being exhibited in a public corridor our interactive artwork will bring some sci-fi splendor to this previous Soviet Republic. Sculpture Quadrennial 2008 (url) 29th of August till 10th of October, Riga (Latvia).

This is one of our current interactive projects: the Sustainable Dance Floor. By dancing people generate energy wich is used for an interactive play. Much have been said and written about this project but Studio Roosegaarde is the one building it for the opening of WATT in Rotterdam NL, the first Sustainable Dance Club of the world. Dune at BIP Livorno ITA

I am in an ancient fortress filled with DJs in Livorno, Italy. In a steep, stone corridor our interactive landscape Dune is brightening the people walking by. This mix of the old and the new, supported by the bass of the music creates a wonderful enlightening scenario.
