During the 3rd year of fine art academy Daan Roosegaarde won a competition to realise SPIRAL to celebrate the anniversary of ABT, a renowned engineering company in the Netherlands. The 3.8 tonnes steel artwork was made based on Daan’s cardboard model, and realised in collaboration with the engineers of ABT. It was his first permanent public artwork.
