22 BEDS consists of 22 bed spirals which create a dynamic landscape of sleeping, dreaming and making love.

The artwork 22 BEDS was based on sketches made in the desert by Daan Roosegaarde during his study at the fine art academy. While walking in the desert the heat blurred the air whilst on the horizon the silhouettes of the nomads were visible. Mesh bed bases were used to create 22 BEDS because they were cheap and available. 22 BEDS was placed outdoors on the university campus for exhibition. It was purchased by Royal Auping for their art collection in 2002.
