CRYSTAL
Wireless LED crystals to create your own message.
CRYSTAL, with its futuristic design, offers endless possibilities for play. Each touch-sensitive LED crystal is wirelessly charged through a magnetic floor, allowing for seamless and innovative interaction. As visitors engage with the installation, the crystals shift from 'excited' to 'bored,' varying in brightness and wavelength to create dynamic light patterns.
Daan Roosegaarde describes CRYSTAL as 'Lego from Mars,' highlighting its open-source nature. This unique feature encourages people to explore and create new shapes and colors, making CRYSTAL a continually evolving artwork. The interactive element transforms public spaces into playgrounds of light and imagination.
CRYSTAL is a permanent installation at Natlab Eindhoven and has been exhibited internationally in cities such as Amsterdam and Moscow. Its global appeal and versatility underscore its impact and innovation, turning ordinary spaces into interactive experiences.
CRYSTAL is winner of the Core77 2012 Design Awards.
