METRO
Berlin subway transformed with light filters.
METRO was a temporary public art installation in a Berlin subway that creatively transformed the space by replacing traditional advertising posters with vibrant light filters. Utilizing the existing lightboxes typically used for commercial ads, METRO reimagined the familiar environment of the subway, encouraging commuters to see their surroundings in a more artistic way.
The installation dramatically changed the ambiance of the subway through its strategic use of colored filters and lighting. This approach created a dynamic, immersive experience, turning an ordinary transit area into a vibrant and engaging space.
By interacting with the subway’s architectural features, METRO added a new dimension to the daily commute, making the journey through the subway more than just a routine task.
By replacing commercial ads with art, METRO not only beautified the Berlin subway but also challenged how people interact with public spaces, demonstrating that art can thrive in even the most unexpected locations.
